i think the first time you hear something is special. you attach memories to it.

last time tame impala dropped an album, the slow rush, my dad had just passed away. i remember listening to it a lot back then, trying to make sense of things. it took me a long time to get through that period.

now there’s a new one, and i’m curious how it’ll feel. maybe it’ll hit the same way, maybe it won’t. either way, it’ll probably bring back some memories.

i can’t press play yet. i’m waiting for the right moment, time and space, to really sit with it. it’s 56 minutes and 5 seconds after all.
